Clue: it is something that stings
The SIMPLE PREPOSITION is an invariable part that INTRODUCES A COMPLEMENT, that is something that the subject acts on. For example, we say, 'oggi vado A casa mia'. This preposition 'A' indicates that there will be a place, and therefore replaces the CASI system, leaving the noun unchanged. There are nine simple prepositions in Italian: DI, A, DA, IN, CON, SU, PER, TRA, FRA.
Prepositions together with some verbs form COLLOCATIONS, that is, a privileged association between two or more words. In some cases, prepositions also change the meaning of the verb, as in the case of 'PARLARE DI ARGOMENTO' and 'PARLARE CON QUALCUNO'. Here are some examples of verbs with prepositions:
